英语故事
The little baker, Pip, wanted to appraise his new bread. He looked at it, a conspicuous golden-brown loaf, and smiled. "This is my finest work!" he declared. His friend, a wise old owl named Professor Hoot, perched nearby. "Indeed, Pip," Professor Hoot said, "it looks very coherent. The crust is smooth, and I can sustain my belief that the inside is just as lovely." Pip beamed. He had worked hard to polish every detail. The smell alone was noteworthy, a sweet, yeasty aroma that made your mouth water. But then, Pip noticed something. A tiny fly had landed on the crust. "Oh, bother!" he cried, his happy mood turning sour. Professor Hoot blinked his large eyes. "Do not fret, Pip. A single fly does not ruin all your hard work. We can simply brush it off." Pip nodded, realizing the owl was right. One small thing could not undo his great effort.
